National Human Services Assembly policy brief identifies National Family Week as a campaign that can influence systems change

Throughout the year, the Alliance for Children and Families will promote programs, ideas, and activities sponsored by national organizations that support the core values inherent in National Family Week. These organizations reinforce the NFW objective to strengthen children and families, especially those who are vulnerable.

A new policy brief from the Family Strengthening Policy Center at the National Human Services Assembly suggests “macro” strategies for changing the culture, from one that may “value” family but which has practices and policies that do not reflect that value. In the brief, National Family Week is identified as a campaign that can help fuel change and improve outcomes for children and families.

Family Strengthening Writ Large is intended as a high-level synthesis resulting from researching a variety of specific topics. It is intended to spark discussion and from that, focus on how individuals and collective groups, in partnership with low-income families, help make the family fundamentals a strong reality for the vast majority of families.
